Operation "Fake Hips" Vandepol
Bernard Lee Vandepol III
The Call On Me Foundation is calling on you to help us raise money for the family of another veteran gone too soon. Bernard “Bernie” Lee VandePol III was a loving father, devoted husband, and proud United States Marine Corps veteran.
“Fake hips,” was a nickname that Bernie’s friends and family knew him by. A nickname that came from surviving being hit by a vehicle traveling 75 miles per hour and then having major surgeries to repair multiple parts of his body, to include his hips. It was only through his strength and determination that he was able to walk again.
Bernie was an enlisted Motor Transport Marine with the United States Marine Corps 7th Engineer Support Battalion. He deployed to Afghanistan and served as a machine gunner for part of a security team. After separating from the Marine Corps in 2013 he and his wife, Kandis, created a life for themselves and their daughter, KJ, in Kentucky. They spent their time as a family on their ranch, camping, riding horses, and traveling around the United States.
Please answer the call and let’s help this family together!
