Aaron “Hambone” Mitchell

Aaron “Hambone” Mitchell was born and raised in California before he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He started his career in the Marine Corps as an Aviation Ordnance Technician with Marine Squadron VMFA-122 where he deployed to both Iraq and Afghanistan. After returning from Afghanistan he began the lateral move process and earned the title of Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technician. As an EOD Technician with Marine Wing Support Squadron MWSS-171 he participated in several operations while stationed overseas in the Pacific. Upon separating from the United States Marine Corps, Aaron started a career in law enforcement with the Savannah Police Department. He has also earned a Bachelor’s in Emergency Management from American Military University. 

Aaron has served his country and community throughout his life. He earned the rank of Eagle Scout before enlisting in the military and took part in countless hours of community service through scouting. As an EOD Technician he took part in a Joint POW/MIA Accounting Command mission working to try and bring home fallen service members from the Vietnam War. Aaron now works to protect and serve the community he calls home as well as build positive community relations between the citizens of Savannah and its law enforcement. It is Aaron’s personal goal to leave the world a little bit of a better place than when he entered it. Aaron hopes that by creating this Foundation he can help establish a helpful resource for the families of veterans in need.
