Time of Service: 2006-2014
Rank: Sergeant/E-5
Units: VMFA-122/VMFAT-101
Current Occupation: Construction Project Manager

James Jackson was born and raised in Virginia and enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 2006, answering a call to serve his country at a young age. He began his Marine Corps career at MCAS Beaufort, South Carolina, where he served as an Aviation Ordnance Technician with Marine Fighter Attack Squadron VMFA-122 and deployed in support of combat operations in Iraq. Following his deployment, James was stationed at MCAS Miramar in San Diego, California, serving with Marine Fighter Attack Training Squadron VMFAT-101.

After honorably separating from the Marine Corps in 2014, James continued to build on his leadership and operational experience by pursuing higher education. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Technical/Project Management, followed by a Master of Business Administration in Business/Project Management. He currently works as a Project Manager in the construction industry, where he has contributed to multiple large-scale city and county revitalization projects, helping strengthen communities through thoughtful planning and execution.

James’ commitment to service has never stopped. He has actively participated in numerous charitable fundraising efforts, including completing multiple two-day, 150-mile Bike MS cycling events to raise funds and awareness for multiple sclerosis, as well as completing a Miami Dolphins Cancer Challenge century ride (100 miles) to support cancer research. These experiences reinforced his belief in showing up for others when it matters most.

Driven by a lifelong desire to do more for those in need, James collaborated with his fellow Marine veterans to establish The Call On Me Foundation. As President and Founding Member, he leads the organization with purpose and compassion, ensuring that Veteran families facing the unexpected loss of their loved one receive immediate financial assistance, unwavering support, and a community that stands beside them in their most difficult moments.
